The historical trail begins with a succession of upward slopes, which will take you to the famous Chintzupei with a 20-minute walk. At the summit there is an official tablet calling against unauthorized logging, an example of the country’s earliest fight against deforestation. The nearby Houtong Shrine, a historical monument of the Japanese Occupation, is worth a visit, too. |
